The Insights Takeaway 🥡

When visiting India last year, I had the opportunity to spend some time with RK and his family.

I got talking to his son who his pursuing his master’s and asked him about what his day-to-day as a master’s student in India looks like.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Unlike delivering a 2-3 hour session once a week, as many unis in the US do, classes are timeboxed for 45 mins — and conducted daily.

I was perplexed if constant switching would break flow and be detrimental to learning.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I signed up for a similar course — but taking only 1 instruction class that week.

Not only had he covered more ground, he also told me about the relationship and interactivity between those topics and topics covered in another course the same week.

I felt stagnant — like a relay-race member waiting for his slow teammate to pass the baton.

That is what waterfall methodology feels like. And that day I learned a lesson about Agile.
