Learn how we helped IMG Worldwide, a global leader in sports, fashion and media, win Kentico Site of the Year Award for Run to the Beat website.
The Run to the Beat event, powered by Nike+, is London's biggest and most unique half marathon with participation of over 19,000 runners.
Nike needed a website to promote the Run to the Beat marathon, where they help charities which spread awareness and raise money for various social causes.
Using Run to the Beat website, users can register for the marathon, in addition to finding information on past and future events, event results, image gallery, charity
event organizers, participating musicians, register for the Nike+ app, and more.
The idea was to make Run to the Beat website as a one-stop-destination for all-inclusive information and updates on everything associated with the event.
Because of Kentico's compatibility with .NET framework, rapid application development capabilities, and user-friendliness Kentico was the number one choice as the ideal solution for these requirements.
To enable infallible rendering of website content across multiple mobile devices, we designed the website in responsive HTML. Coupled with HTML5, the design proved to be future proof to a large extent while maintaining consistent UX, irrespective of the device being used.
In the end, we imparted much required training to our client so that they can manage the website on their own, without the need of technical inputs.
To make quick updates to the image gallery possible, we converted the original static XML file to a dynamic XML file with the help of document events functionality in Kentico. Now, whenever an image was added, updated, or deleted, the functionality triggered an event, which gave full control over when to update the image gallery XML file.
Net Solutions provided excellent support in the areas of website engineering and site optimization. I can confidently recommend Net Solutions as a dedicated and reliable supplier, and experts in their field.
The responsive website design delivered a consistent user experience to the users accessing the website on different devices.
The integration of SEO features with the CMS helped our client to keep the website in line with SEO best practices, which further enhanced online visibility of the website.
Development on Kentico CMS gave the Admin users full control over each element of the website, right from updating text and images to changing navigation, links, and design. The CMS managed image gallery made it possible for the client to effortlessly update gallery images on the website.
Moreover, we isolated data from design using Kentico document types, which made it possible to update the data without disturbing the website design.
Run to the Beat website was also declared "Best Travel and Events Site" in the Kentico Site of the Year 2012 contest.
