Title: International AI Research Fellowship

Industry: IT Services

Net Solutions International AI Research Fellowship

Remote | 20 hours per month | Paid | 12 weeks

Net Solutions is looking for curious, analytical university students to join a small international research program exploring how AI is changing technology, commerce, marketing, and business.

This is not a conventional internship.

Fellows will work on real research questions that matter to Net Solutions and its clients. You will be given a defined problem to investigate, access to our team and relevant materials, and considerable freedom in how you approach it.

We expect you to use AI extensively. We also expect you to question it.

WHAT YOU MIGHT RESEARCH

Projects will vary, but examples could include:

How companies in your market are adopting AI

How AI is changing ecommerce and digital buying

How businesses are preparing their content and product data for AI-driven discovery

How leading companies are positioning new AI products and services

How buyers are finding and evaluating technology partners

Emerging AI tools, platforms, and business models

Competitor and market landscapes

Research into specific industries, companies, or technologies

How AI-generated answers differ across markets

New opportunities created by agentic AI and AI-driven commerce

These are examples rather than a fixed curriculum. Each Fellow will receive a defined research brief.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Depending on your project, you may:

Find and evaluate primary and secondary sources

Interview or speak with relevant people where appropriate

Analyze companies, competitors, and market developments

Use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other AI tools as research partners

Verify AI-generated claims rather than accepting them at face value

Identify patterns and insights in the information you collect

Produce concise written research

Present your findings and recommendations to the Net Solutions team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Your degree subject matters less than how you think.

You should be:

Currently studying at a university

Intellectually curious

A strong researcher

Comfortable writing in English

Able to distinguish evidence from assertion

Comfortable using modern AI tools

Willing to challenge AI output

Interested in technology, business, AI, or digital commerce

Able to work independently

Good at turning a large amount of information into a clear point of view

Students studying business, economics, computer science, engineering, design, marketing, journalism, social sciences, and other disciplines are welcome.

TIME COMMITMENT

The Fellowship runs for 12 weeks.

Expected commitment is approximately 20 hours per month, or roughly 4–5 hours per week.

There are no daily working hours. The program is designed to fit alongside university.

Most work will be asynchronous, with periodic online meetings with the Net Solutions team.

LOCATION

The Fellowship is remote and open to university students based in:

United States

Canada

United Kingdom

Australia

South Africa

Applicants should normally be studying and living in the market for which they apply.

COMPENSATION

This is a paid program. The expected monthly fellowship award is:

United States: US$500 per month

Canada: C$600 per month

United Kingdom: £350 per month

Australia: A$600 per month

South Africa: R5,000 per month

The award reflects the expected 20-hour monthly commitment and participation in the 12-week Fellowship.

HOW WE THINK ABOUT AI

We are not looking for people who simply know how to prompt ChatGPT.

We are looking for people who know when not to believe it.

Use AI to explore, challenge, organize, and accelerate your thinking. But the evidence, judgment, and conclusions in your work remain yours.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Application

Send us your CV or LinkedIn profile and tell us briefly about something you have researched, built, written, or investigated because you were genuinely curious about it.

2. Short research challenge

Shortlisted applicants will receive a small research problem. You may use any tools, including AI.

We will assess the quality of your thinking, sources, and conclusions rather than how polished the document looks.

3. Conversation

Finalists will have a short conversation with the Net Solutions team about their research, how they approached it, and what they learned.

The strongest Fellows may be invited to work with Net Solutions on future research or other opportunities.
