To accomplish this objective, Velti envisioned an iPad-enhanced application or iPad magazine (an iPad case study library) to present the case studies.
Being in the mobile advertising and marketing sector, Velti had a highly active and mobile-savvy audience. To meet the expectations of their audience, it was important for Velti to deliver a rich user experience.
The project was executed with an Agile team model since Velti had hired resources for their other projects as well.
Project collaboration was done using Basecamp and Jira. All project Communication was via email, Go ToMeeting, and Skype. Before moving to the next phase in the process, approval from Velti’s team was sought, and progress was shared with them in a transparent manner.
To make the web app responsive for multiple mobile platforms and screen sizes, it was coded in HTML5 and JavaScript. The responsive design ensured that the app displayed consistently on multiple devices. The code was then ported to the Phone Gap platform to make the app native.
Velti required a large volume of high-resolution images to be showcased in the app without affecting the app’s performance. The images were optimized using image caching to reduce the image load time.
Testing of the web app was done for iPad devices only.
The project was a win-win for both Velti and Net Solutions. It was completed well ahead of the deadline and within budget. It helped Velti save valuable time and bring the product to intended audiences much before the anticipated time of delivery.
The case study library app helped Velti showcase their quality work through case studies and explaining the benefits of their services in a very impressive way.
Using HTML5 and Phone Gap, the effort required for development was Minimized thus helping reduce the development lifecycle and costs.
